CDNIS is delighted to welcome Mr Boekhoud as our new Vice Principal! Originally from Chatham, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Boekhoud completed his university degree in Toronto and his education degree in Auckland, New Zealand. He has extensive experience working as an administrator worldwide, including in Shenzhen, China, and Newfoundland, Canada. Mr Boekhoud’s dedication to working at both International Baccalaureate (IB) and Canadian schools throughout his career makes CDNIS the perfect fit for him. His eldest son will at- tend the new CDNIS nursery program at THE SOUTHSIDE.
A key aspect of his role in the Upper School will involve working closely with teachers and students on academic issues, events, and policies. He will also be integral in leading the Pedagogical Leadership Team. In this team, Mr Boekhoud, alongside the MYP and DP Coordinators, and the Heads of Department for all subject areas, will aim to “improve the educational experience for [CDNIS] students [and ensure] they have all the skills, content and knowledge to be successful.”
Aside from discovering his way around campus, Mr Boekhoud aspires to learn more about the school’s culture during his first year. He believes that an essential part of being new to the school is getting to know the students and teachers to foster strong relationships within the community. He encourages students not to be shy and to introduce themselves when they see him around!
When asked to share a message with students, Mr Boekhoud expressed his delight “to be joi- ning this school and its amazing community.” He is “[looking] forward to getting to know as many students as possible, and doing [his] part to help this school continue to be great.” We look forward to the positive impacts Mr Boekhoud will create in the coming year to enrich the experiences of students and staff!
