After a season of dominant and expansive play, our final match at the ISSFHK Championship against South Island was less about cohesive gameplay and more about long-ball tactics and adaptability. The congested pitch made our usual system of play ineffective, making the first half of the game a tight contest for the ball, where we retained more possession but failed to make goals out of it. The way South Island was defending on such a small pitch made it difficult for us to break through to play our usual combinational plays. After half-time was over, it was 0-0.
We couldn’t fix the pitch problem, so Coach Wah suggested that we could fix our strategies. Coach Wah told us to kick the ball far up, utilizing the size of the pitch and the physicality of our offensive players to our advantage. Soon, the first goal scored by Riley reminded the team to push and adapt further. To secure the win, we contested for another goal from Liv, and finally another finish from Liv ensured a 3-0 win even with the weak first half.
With the support from our coaches, teammates, and parents, we managed to end the season with our seasonal ambition to win ISSFHK achieved. Our team has been undefeated this season and in SEASAC, and we intend to continue this success for future seasons and competitions. We look to our collective commitment to maintaining a high standard of performance, allowing for higher growth and improvement within our team. Thank you T-Wolves for an amazing year!
