This year, SEASAC Basketball was held in Indonesia from February 6th to 10th. The tournament proved to be a memorable experience for the CDNIS U20 Varsity Girls team as they placed 3rd within their group. Coach Wong shared his thoughts and opinions about their journey, reflecting on both the challenges and wins faced throughout the competition.
When asked about challenges during the tournament, Coach Wong expressed gratitude to his team rather than the obstacles they faced. “I can’t think of any challenges; I’m thankful for my team. They represented CDNIS with excellence, showcasing not only their skills but also their character as individuals,” he noted.
Competing against international teams proved to be an unforgettable experience with many benefits for the CDNIS squad. “Playing against these teams has helped us level up our skills and learn the importance of collaboration,” Coach Wong shared. He emphasized that the friendships formed during this tournament were just as valuable as the games played, enhancing the players’ experiences both on and off the court.
The tournament also provided crucial lessons that the team will carry forward in future games. “I’ve learned how resilient and teachable my players are. They have a desire to grow, not just as basketball players but as individuals striving to be the best versions of themselves,” he commented.
Beyond the games, the trip was also filled with memorable moments, including team excursions to Baskin Robbins and Krispy Kreme.
The CDNIS U20 Varsity Girls team not only showcased their sporting talents at SEASAC but also returned with important lessons and lasting memories. Their journey reflects the spirit of teamwork and the joy of the game, setting a strong foundation for future competitions.
