Hong Kong Disneyland saw a new addition to its theme park with the opening of “The World of Frozen”, inspired by the hit animated films Frozen and Frozen 2. Hong Kong’s newest land holds the title of the largest installation of Frozen in the world, being the first Disneyland to open a themed area dedicated to the movies. Following the opening of “The World of Frozen” in Hong Kong, other theme parks have taken notice and both Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland Paris are set to unveil their versions in 2024.
“The World of Frozen” is split into two main parts: the lovely village of Arendelle, home of Anna and Elsa, and the Arendelle Forest. The village features iconic landmarks as seen in the movies, such as Arendelle Castle, Clock Tower Square and Elsa’s Ice Palace. With the story of Frozen taking place in Norway, Arendelle also offers Scandinavian-inspired food in the World of Frozen’s two new restaurants The Golden Crocus Inn and Northern Delights.
Connecting Arendelle Village to the Arendelle Forest is the King Agnarr Bridge. The popular new attractions are Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs and Frozen Ever After.
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is a family-friendly rollercoaster that takes you through the forest and lets riders take in the view of the whole Disneyland park. However, despite its beauty, the rollercoaster is quite short and ends in about a minute. Frozen Ever After features a magical boat ride that journeys through the North Mountain, Troll Valley and Elsa’s Ice Palace and provides a summary of the Frozen movie plot. The characters from the movie, including Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven, are brought to life using technologically advanced animatronics.
Scattered throughout Arendelle are real characters from the films, and visitors are encouraged to take photos with them as they can be found roaming around.
Proving itself once again as an entertainment landmark in the city, Hong Kong Disneyland’s “World of Frozen” is a thrilling and fresh addition to the theme park. Keeping the magic and appeal to visitors of all ages, this CDNIS family favourite has new attractions for us to enjoy!
