The annual CDNIS Got Talent show has once again brought together a group of passionate and gifted students. “CDNIS Got Talent” is a cherished tradition here at our school, where students have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a spirited competition for a chance to win a cash prize. Each year, the event highlights the many hidden stars in the CDNIS community, celebrating its diversity and inclusivity. This year’s performance featured a variety of dancers, singers and musicians, culminating in the band Posercore and Cherry Tsai as the final winners.
On the final day of school before winter break, upper school students gathered in the LLAC theatre to watch the finalists perform. Each participant demonstrated their utmost capability in their skills and talents, captivating both their peers and judges. After a lively discussion, the student body crowned Posercore as their favorite, while the judge-voted winner was Cherry T.
Posercore featured an exhilarating musical performance that had the audience jamming along and engaging with the performers. Lead singer Nicole C from Posercore shared that although “Although it did not take us very long to prepare for the show since everything was pretty last minute, everything turned out really well!”. Remarkably, she revealed that the band only practiced three times before taking the stage, showcasing that those who have talent and passion for their art can truly make the most of limited time. When asked about their hopes for the performance, Nicole expressed, “We just wanted everyone to enjoy some fun songs and jam out with us!”, to which the audience certainly embraced the spirit.
Cherry delivered a dynamic dance cover of “Die With a Smile” By Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. She demonstrated her outstanding dance techniques that flowed seamlessly with the music’s rhythm and ambience. Despite encountering slight audio malfunctions midway through her performance, Cherry persevered with confidence, fueled by the chants and applause of the school community. Her talent and perseverance was recognised by the teacher judges, who collectively applauded her strong stage presence and declared her the winner.
This year’s impressive CDNIS Got Talent stage unveiled new stars and revealed many emerging talents to keep an eye out for. Do you have a hidden talent you’d like to share? If so, CDNIS looks forward to seeing you at CDNIS Got Talent 2025!
