On September 18th, the Transition Years (TY) hosted a CAP Fair in the third-floor gymnasium. The fair served as a gathering for students and clubs, providing an opportunity for clubs to introduce themselves to the school community. Over 40 clubs such as the Chess, Science, and Sports Analysis clubs were involved!
Each club had a dedicated booth adorned with posters, banners, and enthusiastic club members to share their initiatives. At the Insight booth, students participated in a Wordle competition to win a cookie, similar to the Insight booth at the Upper School Cap Fair where winners received a keyboard, Starbucks tumbler, or Mont Blanc notebook. Meanwhile, at the Alliance Club booth, free stickers were given out to students, along with cards containing information about LGBTQ+ topics. The implementation of these promotions sparked student engagement and fostered interest in the clubs that participated in the fair.
Ms Molony, the Transition Years Vice Principal, reflects that this year’s TY CAP Fair was “a huge success”. Participation rates were significantly higher than in previous years, with over 275 students signing up for a club. The fair incentivized students to start their own clubs, increasing both participation and initiative within the school community. Overall, the TY CAP Fair was an overwhelming hit among students, providing them with a vibrant environment to explore interests and setting the stage for a year of exciting endeavours.
