This year’s Season 1 games showcased the talent and enthusiasm of our athletes. Our volleyball, netball, football, golf, sailing, rowing, and cross-country teams delivered their best performances. Not only did athletes exhibit their skills against formidable opponents, they also demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship, growth, and collaboration. Notable achievements include our U20 boys’ volleyball team winning gold at the recent CDNIS invitational, and the U14 girls’ football team securing first place in the ISSFHK championship.
After conversations with several coaches, it is clear that they take immense pride in the progress their athletes have made. Most of all, they expressed joy in watching their teams develop throughout the season, growing in confidence and skill. In the words of the U20 boys’ volleyball coach Mr. Daniel Wong, “It’s not how you start, but how you end.” Players committed to practising and honing their skills through tireless training both before and after school, and their efforts yielded impressive results with a season filled with wins. Ms. Kayla Cayabyab, coach of the U16 girls’ volleyball team, shared her pride in the players’ significant personal growth, evolved volleyball knowledge and passion for the sport. She aptly stated, “As the season progressed, the team became closer as a unit, celebrating each point,
and supporting each other on and off the court. We learned just how important having a positive mindset is when it comes to competition and participating in high-pressure situations. Despite some tough results, the girls displayed great sportsmanship and were positive representatives of CDNIS and the Timberwolves’ spirit. I look forward to seeing how far they will continue to grow in volleyball.” This sentiment of pride was shared amongst our dedicated coaches.
Even with their recent accomplishments, the T-Wolves continue to strive for excellence. Mr. Justin Wah, coach of the U20 girls’ football team, emphasised their goals for the futu- re: to keep improving and to build a strong team that will not only compete at SEASAC, but also consistently rank among the best.
Through teamwork and perseverance, the T-Wolves have consistently proven their resilience, even in the face of adversity. This season has been full of new experiences and growth. The CDNIS community is proud of their accomplishments and excited to see what the next season brings for our athletes.
